Rajan
is best described as "the Jack of all trades...on stereroids".
There is nothing this guy can't do. You look at him and you think
he's probably just a nerdy techie with a masters degree, and you'd be
both right and wrong. That is just one of his many sides. You might
also catch him bending it like Bekham, serving aces out on both the
court and on the poker table, or in the clubs getting his groove on
to name just a few. You are probably here because you are impressed
with the this guys ability to rock out on the drums and are curious
to know the man behind the drums.
Well how do you really know a man?? He would say you're crazy if
you can know a man from a couple paragraphs. However, they're being
written
anyway for your reading pleasure. It started in a small town in
upstate NY, where the world was introduced to this unbelievable
force. Going through school, in 4th grade every student was required
to learn an instrument for at least 1 year. As the first American
born of an immigrant family, he had no aspirations for musical greatness.
So the drums were chosen for two reasons: one, because it's cool
to be a drummer and two, because it was the cheapest option out
of his choices (yes...he is Guju). The $50 went towards a pair of
sticks, a practice pad, and a drumming book. Little did
anyone know that this would stick through the years of public education
and his percussion skills would be greatly diversified: concert
band, orchestra, jazz band, marching band. The peak would have been
marked by his work as an Area-All State Timpanist. Truly brilliant
work.
This branched out even further while he was brushing up on his
technical expertise. Breaking down the coordination and mimicking
songs on the
radio is what forced him to break out of the classical realm and
enter the World of Rock. The challenge and the joy kept him in
2 bands in
college. This carried though after settling post-graduation in
Germantown, MD. He was browsing through Craigslist and saw a wanted
ad for a local drummer (to plow groupies). He checked it out, and the rest, as they
say, is history. If you're lucky enough to see him live, don't be
shy. He is a very fun and chill guy who loves talking to his fans
(especially the ladies).
Work hard. Play Hard. It's the only way to live.
